Ian Ashworth

With over 30 years in the telecoms industry.

In my early career, I trained as a mechanical engineer in the aerospace industry, implanting a diligent and quality driven manner of working which has been replicated throughout my experience in Telecoms service delivery.

Setting up Networx3 in 2003, built on reputation and quality installations, priding ourselves on being at the forefront of fibre and blown fibre technology of its time.

As a forward thinker, I’m always looking for innovation and development, despite my long service in the industry, I have always striven for further knowledge and evolution. I don’t shy away from new opportunities and new found methods of installation.

I hope to bring a knowledgeable but open mind to the FIA council, keeping my finger on the pulse of the industry but also debating and testing new methods and processes and giving an honest and informed injection of humour and informed contribution within the industry.

I am an avid Burnley Football Club fan as well as sport in general and I have a passion for the environment and animal welfare; in addition,  if a justification can be made, I will be found in an excavator or similar at every opportunity or on the ‘tools’ with the team.
